Synopsis

This study investigates the integration of Nitinol (Nickel-Titanium) shape memory alloys, essential components in medical and aerospace industries, into luxury outerwear construction. In high-end
ready-to-wear, the deformation of delicate fabrics such as cashmere and fine wool during travel is a primary challenge to brand excellence. In this research, the alloy's Austenite Finish (°C) temperature
was calibrated to the human body temperature range of 35°C - 37°C. Utilizing a "Floating Frame" architecture and micro-channel design, the wires move freely without damaging textile fibers.
Experimental results confirm that the body-heat-triggered system recovers 90% of wrinkles and maintains mechanical function after 5,000 folding cycles.
